Let us see Allies in the party menu for missions and AB.
There are a few times when playing GWs that you are expected to work along side "Allies", such as two mission in Factions (one being unwaking waters) and other places like AB. They may be more that i've never experienced in pvp, but I don't know.
There is nothing wrong with that, except when you cant see your allies status because their not shown in the party menu.
This causes issues because..
1) In missions like unwaking waters, you dont know if you have an allie team of humans, AI or a mix.
2) You cant see the full status of your team (i.e who is alive, who is dead, who needs health and protecting, who has degen on them), because you can only see your 4 or 8 players.
3) You may get lost and unable to find team members in areas like AB. If you die and res you have a fairly big map to run around to find your team and sometimes thats not easy if the team is mobbing or broken up. But you can only tell when you close to your original 4 man team because their names turn white, but it doesnt help you find the other 8 or 12 (how ever many it is in AB).
Anet really should have done this when they decided to have missions or challenges which involved "Allies", because you need to know the location and status of your entire team, otherwise how you can accurately fight as one?
This is especially more important in the allied missions though!
I realise it would add a party bar with upwards of 16+ players (including pets) and it may get comfusing, but with them seperated into an "allies" section and/or a "pets" section like you do with NPCs, it should be easy to distinguise.
P.S how about star rating it if you like the idea!

Had a couple of problems in the co-op missions with the other team close to wiping. It's very hard to support the other team because you have to find them on the battlefield to heal them, and you can't tell if they need it until you select them.

I Monk in AB and i would love to see the allies to prot them up too. But we have to be careful here. Allies =/= Party Members (incase someone didnt know -_-)

I think this is a good idea for PvE, however, allowing a monk to go and stand by the Elite Elementalist Shrine in an AB might be a tad unfair.

/signed monking in ab is annoying specially when you're in a pug, they run off 100% of the time, complain about you not healing, then comes the other teams.
monking is easy(in ab and pve, but annoying nevertheless) because of the Alt+Click *doh it missed*

Allies could be separate window, because it would mean much more to monks than anyone else, really. I hear Monkies around the world shouting "Bring it on!"

I completely and wholeheartedly agree. Granted, in Unwaking or Vizunah the party list would be horribly long (8 in the party + 8 allies = 16 (+2 for Vizunah)), but it would be really nice to be able to easily target your allies, and make sure that they're doing okay.
By the way, didn't early AB show all the allies as party members?

/signed. I've always thought the same way, and having a monk in your AB 12 player group is nothing to get your hopes up because they can't tell what you're doing!

Simple solution- they already have separate windows for Observer Mode, just make the Allies floater window un-clickable so they can't be healed or w/e.

Unclickable? Why would we want it unclickable??? We can heal allies that are manually selected, and while it would be nice to have an allies window if only to see their health-bars, why would we limit the use to that?

I consider it virtually mandatory for AB, but only for actual players. That thing is too much of a "zomg, enemy lemme go kill"-fest it's pretty ridiculous. For the co-op missions in Factions, it'd be nice to be able to support the other team. The first time I did Vizunah, I didn't realize it was 16 people until we were halfway through the 2nd siege.

Not neccesarily pets, but the 8 players in the other two teams listed under Allies would be nice and good enough.
And if their pets where listed they would be listed under Pets, of course.
Same goes for Vizunah and Unwaking Waters. The ally party should be listed under allies (and resurrect automatically if it is a full-hench party)

/signed, it's useful and kind of necessary, but I agree with MithranArkanere that we don't need to see their pets though.
